How To Clean Plastisol Ink From Silk Screen
Cleaning Plastisol Ink off Screens
So i just got my first 2 screens ready to use .
I will first do some tests before using the t-shirts i just bought for it.
Do i have to take the plastisol from the screen everytime that i use it or i can leave it there for a few days ? ( tshirts arriving tomorrow ).
In case of cleaning the ink off the screen , which products are well recommended for this task ?

Plastisol won't dry, you can leave it on the screen.

mineral spirits/paint thinner are cheap, commonly used, and widely available.

You can leave plastisol on the screen as they wont dry but they will collect dust and dirt and whatever else is in your shop - I wouldn't recommend it if you can avoid it. Wiping down a screen even partially is better then leaving ink in the screen for days.
Most screen printing suppliers carry some form of ink remover or press wash - soap and water do nothing for plastisol so you do need to purchase something specific to clean them properly without hurting your emulsion.

We second the vote to ideally put away the ink so it doesn't collect dirt and dust between prints. We've seen shops wrap screens on press in cling film, but it can get kind of messy.
This is a good product for cleaning ink off of screens on press. It's helpful to remove as much ink as possible using a pallet knife or clean up card to avoid using a ton of chemical in clean up.

Like the majority says, it's best to scrape the ink off with a clean up card at least. In our shop we use Easiway 842 to remove the ink and then carefully blast it clean with a pressure washer. If you leave any 842 in the screen it will block ink from going through your screen and ruin your print, so make sure you either wash it put good or wipe it good with a clean rag.
